|Update on archery during lockdown|
Dear all members
I’m sure you will all be aware that the government has issued a national 4 week lockdown starting Thursday 5th November. Sadly Archery has been listed as one of the activities which must cease under these restrictions.
The committee has had no option but to make the difficult decision to close the range as of Thursday 5th November – although normal shooting under our current protocols may continue until this time.
We will be keeping a very close eye on government and Archery GB guidance throughout this lockdown period and will keep you updated as often as needed. We understand that some may be frustrated and angry regarding this outcome and hold personal views as to why archery should continue, however there is nothing that can be done regarding this. We must all work together to ensure this pandemic settles quickly so we can return to shooting as soon as possible in the safest way.
Anybody found to have been shooting at the outdoor range at St Ives during this period of enforced lockdown will face disciplinary action which may include their membership being revoked – as well as shooting uninsured.
The committee hopes all members and their families remain safe through these difficult times and look forward to seeing you all back as soon as safely possible. We will be in touch to update you all when this is possible
